As a New Patient
Your first appointment will last about an hour. After completing or turning in previously filled out paperwork for registration, you’ll be given an office tour and introduced to our dental team. Then our New Patient Coordinator will visit with you in one of our private consultation rooms. Here we can get to know you and your smile! Together, you, Dr. White and our New Patient Coordinator will gain valuable insights as you talk about your past dental experiences and your dental needs and desires. This will give Dr. White a complete understanding of your present state of health and enable our dental team to help you achieve the results you want.
We will discuss your health history, dental history, immediate pain and concerns, and long-term goals. If necessary, we’ll update your records with X-rays at this time.

With advanced diagnostic technology, Dr. White will evaluate your entire mouth – teeth, gums, occlusion, jaw joints, and soft tissues. A head and neck evaluation, oral cancer screening, and gum disease assessment will complete your checkup.

A complete clinical evaluation will include:

Gathering data about your chewing muscles, jaw joints and your bite, and how these components all work together.

Evaluating the health of your gums and other soft parts of your mouth, looking for signs of disease, oral cancer and injury.

Assessing the health of each individual tooth and the condition of existing fillings, crowns, implants, bonding, etc.

Evaluating your teeth aesthetically so you understand all available options.

All of the information we gather will be reviewed by you and Dr. White, and you will be encouraged to become an active participant in planning any necessary dental treatment. Please ask questions and share your thoughts so that we can create a custom dental care plan that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

Before you leave the office, we’ll schedule your next appointment, either for a professional dental cleaning, or for necessary dental treatment.
